In his speech, a week after the Sandy Hook Elementary school shooting, NRA member, Wayne LaPierre states, “We care about money, so we protect our banks with armed guards.....We care about our president so we protect him with armed secret services agents....Yet when it comes to the most beloved, innocent and vulnerable members of the American family -  our children -  we as a society leave them utterly defenseless...”(2).

In their articles conclusion, Termika Smith states, “Policies should therefore be individualized by the higher education institution instead of being dictated by the legislature in which does not have direct contact with the students”(5).

Wayne LaPierre is the Executive Vice President and CEO for the NRA [National Rifle Association], where he directs the organizations policy and is in charge of the 76 board of directors. In Wayne LaPierre’s speech which appeared at the NRA press conference in 2012
